01What is Hermes Agent?

Hermes Agent is an open-source AI agent developed by Nous Research. It reads files, runs commands, and edits code through connected tools with controlled access. You can use Hermes Desktop on a workstation or connect supported team channels such as Telegram, Slack, or Buzz. Voltti installs and supports the environment at your premises, with people reviewing the work.

02Is Hermes Agent the same as ChatGPT?

No. Hermes is a self-hosted, open-source agent whose tools, project access, and model provider you can configure. ChatGPT is a different product and also offers agent capabilities. The useful comparison is between the access, tools, data handling, and support in the setups you are considering, not simply chat versus action.

03Does our data stay local?

The Hermes environment and its configuration run on a system at your premises. Project repositories can remain wherever you choose, such as GitHub or internal Git. If you use an external model, selected context is sent to that provider. We agree on the model and data flow during setup. Encrypted backups go to a separate location in your network, never to the node itself.

04Which platforms does Hermes support?

Supported channels include Telegram, Slack, Discord, WhatsApp, and Buzz. You can also use Hermes Desktop on your own workstation. Your team chooses the channels it already uses; Voltti configures the connections and access permissions during installation.

05What if the hardware fails?

The agreed support setup includes daily encrypted backups to a separate location in your network and periodic restore tests. If hardware fails, those backups can be used to restore the environment on a replacement system.

06What does a Hermes environment cost?

Installation and pilot costs depend on hardware, onboarding, and integrations. Support is based on a custom quote. You pay model usage, including API costs, through your own provider account. We explain those costs during the introductory call.
