How backups work at Voltti
Encrypted backups go daily to a separate location in your network, never to the node itself. That means:
The backup is not on the same system as the environment
The backup is encrypted, so the data is not readable even if the storage is compromised
The backup includes projects, configuration, and the knowledge base
What we test during recovery
An untested backup is not a backup you can rely on. Voltti periodically runs a recovery test to check whether we can restore the entire environment from the backup, whether projects and configuration are complete, and whether Hermes works properly again after recovery.
What you can do yourself
First, make sure the backup location is reliable: a NAS, an external drive, or another server in your network. Discuss backup frequency with Voltti, and request a recovery test periodically if you want extra assurance.
